Company history

citibase commenced trading in April 1993 when Ian Read and David Joseph joined forces in order to take on a management contract at 150 Minories, London. citibase plc is now the fifth largest serviced office operator in the UK, with a network of 14 centres nationwide.

Meet the Directors

David Joseph, FRICS, Joint Managing Director
David has over 25 years experience in the commercial property sector. A qualified building surveyor, David trained with King & Co before joining the International Department of property consultants, Knight Frank. Subsequently, David joined Portmans as Development Director in charge of a substantial redevelopment portfolio. David has more recently concentrated on establishing citibase as one of the UK’s leading providers of serviced offices.

Ian Read, BSc (Hons) MBA CEng MICE, Joint Managing Director
Originally an engineering consultant with Rendel Palmer & Tritton, Ian has amassed over 15 years experience in the property and finance sectors. In particular, in 1988 he was appointed as Managing Director of London & Carlton International plc, a new group of subsidiaries formed to develop LET’s serviced property activities. During his time with the organisation, Ian created a network of 15 serviced office centres. Since 1993 Ian has focused his attention on developing the citibase national network of serviced offices.

Meet the Operations Team

David Mellon, Associate Director, Finance
David has over five years experience in the service office industry along with experience of facilities management gained working for Halliburton and GEC.

David is responsible for the production of management and financial accounts, forecasting and controlling expenditure against budget. David also overseas the development of citibase's management information systems and is responsible for the training of finance staff.

Paras Khona FCCA, Management Accountant
Reporting directly to David Mellon, Paras provides
accounts and financial information support.

Caroline Taylor MA, Director of Internal Sales
Caroline is responsible for sales, marketing and full business development of the centres.

Lisa Watson MAPD, Director of Quality and Best Practice
Lisa is responsible for human resources, health and safety and training.
